Fall Break

This weekend was Fall Break so Luke and I decided to visit his family in Nashville. Luke and I have been saving money for this road trip for a long time so we were glad to go on a much needed break! On Thursday Luke picked me up at 4:45 so that we could get on the road at be at his parents house for supper! Luke made a Road trip play list that had so many songs so that the two of us could laugh and sing together in the car.

Getting there was the most refreshing thing. Luke's family is so amazing to me. Their house is so much fun since their are so many people there! Hannah, Luke's sister, is a nanny for Ryan Ludwick who plays major league baseball since the season was over she was home in Nashville. Luke's older brother Matthew came over with his girl friend. And Nate and his wife Amanda came over too. Everyone was there except for Garrison who goes to School in Dallas and we got to see him the weekend before so it was cool to get to see everyone.

On Saturday night Luke, Annie, Abby, Hannah, Nate, Amanda, Matthew, and Kourtney all met up at the mall we walked around got dinner in the food court then made our way to Dave & Busters which was in the mall. We all had so much fun playing games and laughing together. Everyone put their tickets together at the end of the night at we all got a nerds rope or a fun dip! Then we went to a restaurant and just sat and talked and laughed so hard.

This weekend I laughed the entire time. I can't even decide what my favorite part of the weekend was, I have three choices. 1. Dinner every night! Lukes mom is an amazing cook and she always had some sort of pie or dessert afterwards. Luke's dinner table is huge since it has to fit nine children around it! We all just sat around for hours eating, laughing, and enjoying life together. 2. I stayed with Abby and Hannah Luke's sisters house in their guest bedroom and Luke stayed at his parents house, So every night Hannah, Abby, and I would sit and talk while drinking hot tea. These times make me love them even more and I am so thankful that they are my friends. 3. Church on Sunday. Listening to Luke's dad preach is one of my favorite things. He is so good and the whole family sits in the front row and it is such a fun thing.

Driving in to Tennessee!

Luke and I sitting on his mom and dads porch swing after church

Everyone at Dave and Busters. We sent this picture to Garrison who was in Texas to say we missed him.
Hannah and I were wearing matching outfits! Red shirts and boots! So we had to take a picture!

I literally could keep going on and on!!! And I am going to say one thing I never thought I would say... Tennessee may have Colorado beat on how beautiful the trees are in the fall.. My breath was taken away by the trees. God is so Good!

Dan In Real Life

Last night since I didn't have any homework Luke and I went to Common Grounds to watch Dan in Real Life! Great Movie! Dane Cook and Steve Carell how can a movie get any better right? Well it is just a great movie. We had to buy a drink to get in but that wasn't a big deal because Common Grounds Drinks are amaze!! I got an Arnold Palmer and Luke got a coffee with 4 espresso shots...umm..not okay. We were also like the least hipster people there, there were like guys with handle bar mustaches and like short shorts. It was awesome!

Well if you haven't watched the movie here is the trailer and I expect you to watch it like now! The movie..not the trailer.. or both ha.

But the reason I felt like blogging about this movie besides it being really good was the end of the movie really got me thinking about my life. Without giving anything away Steve Carell talks about making plans and planning to be surprised. (it says this in the trailer too) but I was just thinking about my life and where I am now. I am so surprised and I never could have thought of this on my own. God is full of surprises which are always going to be better then what I had in mind. Never in a million years did I think that I would be living in Waco, Texas, studying Nutrition at Baylor, In love with someone older than me talking about marriage, with such great family and friends. I would have never thought of that and I am just thankful that God is full of surprises and I look forward to planning of being surprised for the rest of my life, because I know anything that he has planned for me will be way cooler than anything I could think of.

It is well with my soul

Feeling refreshed is a great feeling. This weekend was a refreshing one. It was just a weekend that makes you relax and trust that all is well. I didn't do homework, which is while I will be doing homework all afternoon. : ) Not sorry.  But  I did laugh, cry, pray, eat good food, rest, and watch a few sports games.

This last week was a pretty stressful one for me and the people who are important in my life. Stress about the future. And a little frustration with people that I truly love. This weekend I feel like communication lines were opened up and honesty came pouring out. It was the best feeling.

Besides a lot of reflecting this weekend I did many fun things. I drove to Houston with Luke to see our friend who plays for the Cincinnati Reds. The reds were playing the Houston Astros. We sat with Ryan's wife and son Stetson. Sorry I forgot to take pictures! : / But after the baseball game Luke and I decided to dress up and go to a fancy dinner. My first time at P.F. Changs.. Yum.  Also I got to wear my maxi dress for the first time and I was super pumped!! New obsession!

Dinner was amazing. We got the 4 course meal for two, and had soup, lettuce wraps, 2 kinds of chicken, then to finish it off we had....The great wall of chocolate! Obviously chocolate can solve any problem but just take a look at this six layer chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and mini chocolate chips!

But anyway It was just a great Labor day weekend. I am blessed to be able to spend it with such amazing friends. It is definitely well with my soul. Also Baylor kicked butt even without RGIII! Sic em!

first blog... oh dear.

soo... it  feels awkward writing a blog for the first time. not going to lie I don't really think that I have anything interesting to say to anyone.. i mean you abby miller since at this moment in time you are the only person in the world who knows I even have a blog. I was just sitting at home on a friday night, baking cookies, watching bride fridays on tlc, and decided to blog.. wild college life!

But anyway I named it peaks, pits, prayers, and praises because well... I saw it on a journal on pintrest and really fell in love with it. and if I am going to have a blog I am going to talk about the highs, the lows, my prayer requests, and praises for things God has blessed me with.

This week was interesting, second week of school.... so I actually had to try. It was weird getting back in the swing of things but I really like all my classes.. except chem lab. that can just go away. I get to wear super cool goggles though.. you know the ones that leave smoking hot marks on your face all day long. yeah those.

My peak this week: Well lots of things. Luke was hired at a job with United airlines which means he would have to move away from Waco and be anywhere in the united states, but this week he decided this wasn't what he thought the Lord had planned for him. He has a few different options that still aren't in Waco but I sure am glad that I get to have him here with me for now. Selfish of me I know but don't know how I would survive not being able to see him when ever I want. Even if it is just a quick ten minutes after school before I go to work. Also...on a less serious note.

This picture literally made me laugh so hard all week. Saw this in the baylor parking garage. Why wouldn't Harry Potter want to transfer to Baylor? Baylor is better than Hogwarts. Sic em!

My pit this week it was a little stressful this week trying to help Luke with his job choice, also he is fighting the flu. So that is no fun!!

Prayers: I just have been praying for my momma and family back home. It is hard times right now for my family. But I know the Lord can't put us through anything we can't handle!

Praises: I am thankful for the great room mates I have this semester. They are awesome and none of them are here right now and it is making me sad. But anyway I am thankful for them. I am blessed with great best friends from Colorado who I miss very much! Ellen! Katie! Abby! Christy! Amanda! Laney!

So that is my first blog. Hope I didn't kill you with boredom!
